The David Moore Band
The David Moore Band are an innovative blues based combo playing a mixture of original and classic material. Their sound combines the blues with elements of rock, funk, jazz and soul, providing a refreshingly original and progressive take on the genre.

Singer and lead guitarist David Moore studied the electric guitar at Birmingham Conservatoire and his mastery of his chosen instrument is self-evident. There are no guitar-hero histrionics or passages of gratuitous nine-hundred miles per hour finger-waggling with David - he's way too good to have any need to show off - but there are times that you could swear there are two guitars playing at once.
Bassist and singer Mike Parris is a skilful and soulful player who keeps time like a piece of Swiss clockwork. He is also a more than useful vocalist.
Phil Brittle's drumming adds a nicely rocky counterpoint to proceedings. Phil, formerly of Midlands rock-legends Quill, has played with just about everyone you've heard of and is always in heavy demand.
Keyboardist Rob Norman is another Conservatoire graduate and may be familiar to many through his work in jazz octet Sugar Beats and its off-shoot The Sub Ensemble. His jazzy stylings provide yet another dimension to the unique sound of the Dave Moore Band.
The band have an extensive and ever-growing set and are frequently joined by various guest artists. As a constantly evolving act, the Dave Moore Band provide a fresh experience every time they play.
People come from far and wide to hear the band's regular Sunday afternoon sessions in The Gate - normally running from about 4:30 until sometime around 8 o'clock - and for good reason: you would have to go an awfully long way to find a better band than this one.

Visit the band's MySpace page to hear some of their work or, better still, come down to The Gate and catch them live for free.
