There has been a change of management at Britain's favourite boozer. As Neil heads for pastures new, we welcome Steve and Lisa on board.
The new management team's philosophy is very much rooted in the old adage of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and we can all rest assured that there won't be any wholesale changes, just a whole bunch of minor improvements.
We're delighted to announce that Ange and Simon will continue to provide their usual superlative bar service and that the usual entertainment schedule will continue. We've also updated the Gig Guide and can confirm that there will be a band playing every Friday and Saturday night - the coming weeks include the return of some old favourites including 021, The Undercocks, The Skastuds and The Big Boot Band along with some exciting new talent.
Sunday nights will continue to feature the weekly quiz along with a chance to win some serious money in the "pick a box" game.
Needless to say, The Gate remains the best place to watch all of the big sporting events (unlike at least two places that claim to be "Sutton's only football-free pub") and above all, continues to be the best place in town for a pint and a natter.
So, all in all, it's a case of The Gate being the same as it ever was, only better. And you know that can't be bad ...
